The year 7 football have completed the next round of their league fixtures. After the first round the team sat 4th in the league. They faced a tough opening game against St Edmond Arrowsmith, current league leaders, but Anderson put Atherton in front after following in a shot from Ashton that had hit the bar. Ben made an unbelievable save, tipping a shot that was destined for the top corner onto the post. Unfortunately, the boys couldn’t hold onto the lead and conceded a late goal. The next game saw Atherton see out a tight 0-0 draw with Golborne. The final game against Cansfield got off to the worse possible start with Atherton conceding an early goal. However, the team kept their heads up and battled hard with two goals from Ashton and one from Brad securing a 3-1. The final round of fixtures will take place after Easter.
