A part of our Y10 Workplace Safari program some of our Y10 pupils visited the Head Office of Northstone in Media City, Salford Quays. We learned about the company, its history as part of Peel Holdings, its sustainable approach to building and the differences between open market and social housing sales. We then had a tour of Media City which visited various different offices with exceptional views across Trafford Park and visited the BBC studios. Our pupils then had the opportunity to “speed date” people from the company and met a variety of employees from Architectural Technicians, Marketing and Sales, Land Development, Town Planning and Finance. It was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to learn about the breadth of careers in the construction industry and the opportunities available in a key economic growth area of Manchester.
