Year 8 pupils visited the International Slavery Museum on Albert Docks, Liverpool to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the Atlantic Slave Trade and Liverpool’s role in the Slave Trade. Pupils study Slavery and more specifically the Atlantic Slave Trade as part of the Year 8 Slavery topic.
It was a fantastic experience for pupils to be able to see first-hand some artefacts from the Slave Trade and gain a further understanding of the horrific events that occurred during the Slave Triangle. Pupils also visited Tate Modern as part of their Art curriculum. Pupils wrote about specific pieces of art that they found inspiring, did some sketching on Albert Docks, and carried out tourism surveys as part of their Geography curriculum.
