Our annual act of Remembrance took place on Friday the 10th November.
The whole school gathered together to listen to a group of year 7 students perform real experiences from soldiers who fought in the great wars. Mr. Cook, a member of staff and a veteran, read traditional speeches and Mr. Bennett, performed The Last Post on the bugle. The whole school then respected a two-minute silence in remembrance of those lives affected and still affected by conflict.
This was then followed by Mr. Layzell, the head teacher and the senior prefects walking down to our local cenotaph to lay a wreath as a token of respect from all members of Atherton High School community.
